Timber Garden Rooms
World of Sheds supply a full range of timber garden rooms, with a wide range of modern contemporary designs to choose from.
Timber Garden Rooms (or Log Cabins) can be used for any number of purposes. If you want a sun room, sauna, home office, gym, study room, art studio or just a space to chill out away from the main house, a log cabin garden room will fit your needs.
We can offer everything from a full build, base included, to a basic flat pack delivery for self assembly if you would prefer a project to build yourself. Further options for insulation, electrical connection and external finish will allow you to make this Garden Room your own.
The gallery below is just a sample cross section of the Garden Rooms that World of Sheds can supply you. Please feel free to Contact Us to discuss the options available or visit our show area in Castlebridge to take a look for yourself.
World of Sheds Garden Rooms are made from slow grown Nordic timber which is denser and more resistant to mould, which means a stronger building that lasts longer.
These buildings can be built to your own spec with options for insulation, interior finish, electrical connections along with a selection of windows & doors, including sliding and folding doors that maximise the natural light within the building.

Owing to the nature of the supply chain involved with these buildings, timber garden rooms are not as easy to customise as more basic sheds would be. We can offer a large range of building sizes and styles, many of which do offer customisation options to suit your particular needs. Some popular options are outlined below.
Base
The base for your garden room can be done in several ways, whichever you feel is most appropriate to your garden layout and budget.
ProBase Foundation: This plastic grid is suitable for smaller buildings. Lightweight, it can easily be picked up carried and placed into position. ProBase can be ordered for self assembly or included with the installation of your room.
Concrete Base: Traditional and solid, a concrete base of approx 100mm depth can be installed by the customer prior to the arrival of the building. World of Sheds can also arrange to have the concrete base installed if required. A concrete base requires adequate access and a suitable route for the concrete to be delivered to the site. For terraced houses or houses with steps or sharp turns en route to the site that would deny passage of a loaded wheelbarrow, it may be necessary to have the concrete pumped into the site, which may incur a signifcant cost.
Screwpile Foundation: Uses heavy duty steel screw supports to create and support a raised platform on which to stand your building. The Screwpile Foundation allows for air circulation beneath the building, which can help prolong its life. Note that Screwpile Foundations require between 50cm and 1m of soil depth for the screws to be driven in, depending on the size of the building. This may not be possible in some gardens if there is not a good depth of soil under the garden surface.
Garden Room Options
Note that not all options will be available with all buildings. Depending on the model of building you prefer, we can discuss the available options to tailor your order for you.
Installation
We can arrange for an expert installation team to install your building for you. The cost of installation includes all labour costs to build, insulate and if required paint your building for you. We handle everything for you for one fee.
If you prefer to do the job yourself, all of our Garden Rooms are available as flat pack bundles for self installation. Flat pack orders will come complete with all components, fixings and other materials needed to fully install your room. For guidance, we have extensive videos on YouTube that cover step by step the various stages of the install process.

Note: Gutters are made from folded steel which fits to the lower edge of the roof in a wrap around pattern. Downpipes are square PVC pieces. Gutters can be made in any standard colour. Downpipes can be black, grey, borwn or white.
SHelving blocks are designed to be free standing but will be secured to the interior framework of the shed for added stability. Shelves are made from galvanised steel frame with OSB boards. Sizes available from 4ft to 8ft in length.
Timber Size
Slow-growing Nordic timber is denser and more resistant to mould, which means top-quality buildings that last longer.
Our log profiles start from 28 mm (for garden sheds) to 90 mm and above for log houses. We also use laminated logs for profiles up to 200 mm.
Our floorboards and roof boards have a tongue and groove construction for a tight and secure fit. All of our products have roof boards included as standard, and many models come with floorboards.

Note: Some building models are avaialble in a selection of log sizes and can be ordered in whichever thickness suits the customer.
28mm Log profile buidings come with single glazed windows and doors. Heavier logs come with double glazing as standard.
Additional logs can be ordered with your building if you plan to alter the standard design.
Door & Windows
Timber Garden Rooms come with premium quality doors and windows have rubber seals for better insulation. Options are available for solid wood and laminated door and window frames.
Our folding and sliding door options let you embrace natural light! Fold or slide the doors out of the way and open your building up to the garden!
We want to make sure that your timber building is as secure as your home – especially when it contains valuable items. Our secure locking mechanisms help do just that.
Buildings manufactured from 28mm timber logs come with single glazed doors and windows as standard. Heavier structures are upgraded to double glazing.
Door and window options are tailored for individual building designs and not all buildings can be configured with all door and window options.
Alterations to standard building designs will incur an additional cost to cover additional materials needed.
Roof Covering
Our garden buildings and saunas have no roof covering material included as standard, but you can choose to add a roof covering if you wish.
For Flat Roofed buildings, you can opt for an EPDM roof covering.
The EPDM roof is an extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane that is used as a covering for flat and sloped roof buildings around the world.
For apex style roof, we offer an option for bitumen shingles to be applied in a selection of colours.

If you choose not to buy a roof covering from us, we strongly advise you to cover the roof with any other material of your preference, because the wooden roof boards by themselves are not enough to keep your garden building safe and keep the warranty valid.
Other Options
If required, we can arrange for an electrician to connect and wire up your garden room for lights and sockets.
Several options for insulation are available. Floor and roof insulation can be either PIR or Rockwool. PIR wall insulation is also available if needed.
Garden Rooms are supplied in a natural unpainted finish. We highly recommend the exterior of the building be painted to protect it from the weather. We offer a painting service if required in a range of colour choices.

Electrical hookup as standard includes up to 20m cable run, 2 outdoor lights, one outdoor socket, 4 internal sockets & 1 rose light all connected to a mini fuse board. ALl electrical work is fully certified and carried out by qualified electricians.
Choice of insulation may affect what light options are available for your building.
An exterior coat of paint is essential to prolong the life of your building. We recommend Sadolin wood preservative however other options may suffice.
