Cabin Style Timber Garden Sheds
Cabin type garden sheds come with a single pitch roof sloping to the side or back, for a crisp modern look. Pent style roofs can allow rainwater from the roof to go to one side or the other, which may be prefferable if you want the rain water away from a house or a wall. It is also easier for to collect the water if you are putting a gutter on the shed and collecting rainwater to use on your garden.
World of Sheds will arrange for your shed to be delivered and installed onto a suitable site. A flat and level patch of ground is needed, large enough to take the shed. We would also ask that you have a number of concrete blocks on site to stand the shed on. The number of blocks required will vary depending on the shed. We cannot supply blocks with the shed delivery.
All timber sheds come as standard with 35mm timber frame work, which can be upgraded if desired. Cabin sheds are 7ft (2.1m) at the high side and 6ft6 (2m) at the low side. Doors are located on the high side of the shed. If you prefer a more tradidional approx, check out our Standard Style Sheds or Cottage Style Sheds as an alternative. All timber sheds are nailed together rather than being stapled and the roofs are finished with heavy gauge mineral felt. Roofs have an apex profile, for a pent style roof, check out our Cabin Shed range. All timber sheds include a single pane window as standard. Windows are made from ToughGlass for added protection.
Timber sheds can be ordered in any of five timber finishes and can include a number of optional upgrades if desired.
Timber Finish Options
Rustic Timber

Timber Size: 125mm x 10mm
Treatment Method: 1 Year Timber Paint
Details:
Our entry level timber selection. Rustic timber sheds are comprised of all natively sourced timber, hand picked to ensure the best quality. Each board is 10mm thick approx and retaints the rustic, rough finish of traditional timber, giving a raw, natural look.
Rustic sheds are sold pre-treated with a water based, non toxic timber paint, which is good for approximately one year, after which you will have to re-paint your shed approximately every 12 months. Timber treatment paint is available from all good hardware stores in a range of colours to suit your taste.
Note: Rustic sheds are not designed to be water proof, rather they are designed to be weather proof. As such, with constant exposure to rain over several days, the timber may become saturated, which may lead to the interior walls of the shed becoming moist or damp to the touch. This is in no way harmful to the timber and, given a spell of dry weather, the shed will dry out with no adverse effects.
Rustic sheds are recommended for the storage of tools, lawnmowers, wheelbarrows, paint and other items which would not be adversely affected by occasional damp conditions.
Rustic sheds are not recommended for the storage of fabrics, soft furnishings or anything that may be adversely affected by dampness.
It is highly recommended that a coat of sealant, such as Thompsons Water Seal, be applied to seal the shed after installation to prevent water seeping into your shed. Note that application of sealant may affect future painting of the shed.
Pressure Treated Rustic Timber

Timber Size: 125mm x 10mm
Treatment Method: PRO-T Timber Treatment
Details:
Pressure treated rustic sheds have the same quality and strenght of timber as the standard painted rustic sheds. The only difference being that the pressure treated rustic boards are impregnated with PRO-T timber treatment, offering up to 7 years maintenance free storage for your garden.

Upgrade Options
Timber sheds from World of Sheds can be customised to suit your needs. Common upgrades include additional windows, double doors, stable doors and many more.
In addition, we can configure the location of the doors and windows of your shed or include larger features such as verandas for an additional cost.
Some of the more popular options are outlined below. Feel free to Contact Us if you want to discuss any option for your shed.
Roof

As standard, all timber sheds sold at World of Sheds come with a high strength nail on mineral felt covering on the roof. This can be upgraded to a box profile steel roof for an additional cost.
Steel roofs are far stronger and more durable than the standard felt. They are ideal for any shed that is likely to be exposed to strong winds - ie if its in an exposed site without much shelter. For those near the coast, a steel roof is a very cost effective option to consider.
The steel roof does not replace the felt roof, rather it is added as an extra layer on top, creating a double roof which is extremely durable and weather tight.
Lining

A standard feature on the Duluxe Pressure Treated & Barrel board sheds, a breathable membrane lining is a key upgrade for any timber shed.
Pro-T Breathable felt lining is a one way permiable membrane that allows moisture to leave a shed but does not allow water to seep in from outside.
For an additional fee, you can add lining to any timber shed. We line the walls of the shed and the door but not the roof as the roof felt is already waterproof.
